An Evening at Freedom Park

A former colonial-era prison on Lagos Island, redesigned into a National Memorial and cultural site.

Freedom Park occupies the site of the former Her Majesty's Broad Street Prison, a colonial-era prison on Lagos Island.

Architect Theo Lawson redesigned the site, and it opened in October 2010 to mark Nigeria's 50th year of independence. It now functions as a National Memorial, historical landmark, and cultural and arts venue.
